What is rosin?
At Fille au Pluriel, we want to offer you the very best in waxing products, which is why most of our waxes are rosin-free.
What is rosin?
Waxes developed from the 1990s onwards were primarily composed of rosin.
Rosin is a natural product derived from pine resin; its main characteristic is that it is extremely sticky.
Used in the composition of hair removal wax, it allows the wax to adhere to the hairs.
Here are the main derivatives containing this resin that you will find in INCI formulations (the list must appear on all packaging): colophonium, glycol rosinate, glyceryl rosinate, hydrogenated rosin…
What are the characteristics of rosin-based wax?
- It may pose an allergy risk for some people
- It adheres strongly to hair and skin
- It has a slight smell – you know, the one you get from traditional waxes? the smell of “our mums’ beauty salons”
Why do we prefer to offer you rosin-free waxes?
- You want your clients to feel comfortable; our rosin-free waxes adhere lightly to the skin and very strongly to the hair, so goodbye to the pain of waxing!
- The application temperature is lower than that of a rosin-based wax, so your clients no longer feel intense heat
- You want to minimise the risk of irritation and allergies
- They leave no residual odour and leave your salon smelling lovely
- Because we know you like variety and like to choose according to the season or your mood, we offer several scents
- If you’re a fan of ‘fragrance-free’ products, the 5th generation is made for you
- Because you value quality and innovation
Be bold; progress comes at a price.
