A beauty therapist who’s always busy, but always stylish

Let’s be honest, between back-to-back appointments, Instagram messages at 10 pm, slightly stressed-out clients, stock to check, children to pick up from nursery, stories to post and the coffee machine giving up the ghost right in the middle of your break… your mind can quickly become completely overwhelmed.

So don’t panic! Here are our 7 little tips for staying calm (even when your schedule is as tight as your thighs in a size 34 pair of jeans! 🙂

1. Breathe (properly): it sounds silly, but we often forget to pay attention to our breathing. Try the 4-4-4 method: breathe in for 4 seconds, hold your breath for 4 seconds, breathe out for 4 seconds, and repeat this three times in a row. There you go, you’ve just given your nervous system a mini spa break. And you’ll see, it works surprisingly well because, well, breathing is life!

2. Plan smartly, but don’t strive for perfection: a well-organised diary is like a good-quality wax (Fille au Pluriel, of course ;-), it makes all the difference. Schedule in breaks, accept that things won’t always be perfectly optimised, and above all… make sure you leave yourself time to relax, because taking a breather is also about giving yourself the strength to keep going.

3. Keep it chill: Instagram’s great, but being online non-stop can be exhausting. Set aside specific times for your posts, and log off without feeling guilty. Your mental health is far more important than a Reel posted on a Sunday morning (your only day off!).

4. An anti-stress routine that you really enjoy. A cup of hot tea, some music, 10 minutes to jot down your thoughts on paper (or in an app)? A bit of exercise, listening to a podcast… why not? Whatever you choose, just make sure you do it for yourself, every day. It’s your personal time, and that time is non-negotiable!

5. The right to say no (even if it’s not always that simple). No, you can’t squeeze in another client at 7.30 pm. No, you can’t reply to every message within an hour. And no, you’re not a superhero with no limits. Saying no means saying YES to your well-being and your health.

6. Create your own little haven of peace at work. A tidy salon, a carefully curated playlist, a subtle fragrance wafting through the air. You deserve to work in an environment that makes you feel good. Even if your schedule is packed, the atmosphere stays calm and relaxed.

7. And above all… give yourself permission to let go of the pressure. Nobody expects you to be perfect; we just want you to feel good about yourself and be happy in your job. It’s not always easy, but it starts with looking after yourself.
